Recently I was invited by the Great Western Society to visit their Didcot shed with my drone to produce some photographs from the different prospective a drone offers as part of their 60th anniversary celebrations. A great deal of effort had been put in by the staff at Didcot prior to the visit to get the locos lined up outside the shed, another by the coal stage (unusually facing Oxford), one on the turntable, another alongside the shed facing Oxford and the Steam, Railmotor on the branch line demonstration line. Thanks to all for this effort, which isn't as simple as you might expect. The weather was cloudy initially, but patience paid off and the sun broke through about 3pm to enable some decent images to be captured. ![]()

Its been busy in the gallery in recent weeks so I've been a bit quiet with my posts of social media. But todays weather has quietened things down a bit, so here's an image for you to hopefully enjoy..... this is The Quiraing on the Isle of Skye, image captured just after sunrise on spring morning. I love the colours in this wild and seemingly forgotten landscape, and it is perhaps hard to comprehend its in the UK. ![]()

West Somerset Railway Association owned Prairie No. 4561 steams across the Nursery Pool Bridge, Buckfastleigh, just as it had done countless times before when it worked the Newton Abbot to Ashburton branch goods, a wonderful recreation of what had been some 40 years earlier. 2nd April 1998.![]()
