Description

Llangollen Railway

BR Black Manor 4-6-0 No. 7822 “Foxcote Manor” with 3 or 4 Carmine & Cream coaches.
Sadly the charter has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 virus issues and government advice on social distancing.

During this winter Manor No. 7822 has been back to its original home railway, Llangollen Railway, for some winter maintenance and running on services from its current regular base of the West Somerset Railway.

There hasn’t been many charters on the Llangollen line in recent times , I believe the last may have been my day with No. 5199 in November 2017, so I’m pleased to announce that I have secured a day on March 23rd with No. 7822. This line is simply too wonderful and scenic to lose to charters, and anyway the railway needs to earn as much income as possible at the present time.

We will start from Llangollen station at 08.00hrs and work our way down the line towards Glyndyfrdwy & Carrog with a short lunch break back at Llangollen for crew change and water. I am not certain at this stage if we will be able to access the Corwen extension. The charter will run throughout the day to around sunset which is around 5.30pm at this time of year.

I plan for a short rake of 3/4 Carmine & Cream coaches to match the locos plain black livery and the addition of a van or two has been requested.

Cost for the day is £82.00 per head.

Following yesterdays shot from the Lake District, I've decided to post another from this favourite area of mine. This one is Wast Water on a cold and still February afternoon, which I spent all in my own at this beautiful location watching the effect of the light on the landscape. As with all my images, prints are available from our gallery in Cheddar Gorge or online via the website. #wastwater #lakedistrict #lakedistrictnationalpark #cumbria #greatgable #snowcappedmountains #winter #beautyofbritain #landscapeimages #landscapephotography #cheddargallery #gallery #prints #canonphotography #leefilters ... Blea Tarn, Little Langdale in the Lake District on a still autumn morning. I positioned the foreground rocks to keep the reflection of the Langdale Pikes clear in the tarn. Had to wait a while for the light, as is so often the case! #bleatarn #lakedistrict #lakedistrictnationalpark #visitlakedistrict #littlelangdale #langdalepikes #reflection #autumn #beautyofbritain #landscapephotography #canon #canonphotography #gallery #galleryimage #prints #leefilters ... I suspect that Llyn Ogwen, Snowdonia is looking much like this now, but of course we can't go and check it out for a while. Hopefully this image will help you to apprecaite our wonderful landscape, without actually going there. Keep safe & well. #llynogwen #snowdonia #snowdonianationalpark #beautyofbritain #scenicviews #visitwales #landscapephotography #canon #canonphotography #leefilters ... See MoreSee Less
