Severn Valley Railway
LNER Black B1 No. 1264 with 5/6 LNER Teak coaches.
CANCELLED – Due to loco not being available
For their Spring 2018 gala the Severn Valley Railway have hired in B1 No. 1264 (more recently known as No. 61264 in BR Black and as shown above of course) and made the engine available for a few photo charters in late March. I am pleased to be able to announce that I have secured a day with the engine matched with the railways Teak carriages on Tuesday 20th March 2018.
You may have heard the news that the B1 is to be repainted into LNER Black for 2018 and will appear at the SVR in this livery. On return home to the NYMR plans are apparently in place to present it No. 1040 “Roedeer” for the rest of the season, so the charter will be a rare opportunity to see the engine as No. 1264 with the LNER teak set.
The day will commence at Bewdley at 08.30am. I plan to have the loco facing North to start the day with a session for the back-lighting around the tunnel and then Bewdley station area. B1’s working around ex GW infrastructure is not so wrong when you consider that the class often appeared on the mixed LNE/GW lines into London Marylebone. I then plan to run to Kidderminster to have the loco turned to face south for the afternoon session which will take place between Highley and Bewdley with a finish back at the tunnel for the glints that are often so good at this location at this time of year. Finish will be between 17.30 and 18.00hrs.
Cost for the day is £79.00 (incl VAT) per head, with 40 places available.
