Recently I was invited by the Great Western Society to visit their Didcot shed with my drone to produce some photographs from the different prospective a drone offers as part of their 60th anniversary celebrations. A great deal of effort had been put in by the staff at Didcot prior to the visit to get the locos lined up outside the shed, another by the coal stage (unusually facing Oxford), one on the turntable, another alongside the shed facing Oxford and the Steam, Railmotor on the branch line demonstration line. Thanks to all for this effort, which isn't as simple as you might expect. The weather was cloudy initially, but patience paid off and the sun broke through about 3pm to enable some decent images to be captured. An archive image to share this afternoon, taken on Fuji Velvia slide film back in the day, well before digital.
