Hmmm, in actual fact very much a preservation era image captured at Luscombe curve, on what is now the South Devon Railway on 4th March 2015 during one of my "Steam Recreations" photo charters. In terms of recreating the past - does it get any better/more accurate than this? ![]()

A late 1930's scene as would have been seen on the Cambrian lines before the names were removed and transferred to newly built 'Castle' class locos. This followed comments from the gentry about having their names adorned on such an old fashioned looking locomotives! Here the Bluebell Railways Dukedog 4-4-0 No. 9017 "Earl of Berkeley" heads a rake of the Severn Valley Railway's excellent Great Western Collett coaches towards Foley Park tunnel, Bewdley, Severn Valley Railway during a photo charter I organised on 6th October 2008. ![]()

With Glastonbury Festival about to get underway it seems appropriate to post an image of the Tor. This one was captured early on a winters morning near the River Brue outside the town. I liked the way the trees were able to be positioned so as stay separate from each other and lean to the right to guide the eye towards the Tor itself. The sharp frost helping to give the image feeling. ![]()
